چکیده

A wideband source in high speed networks is typically represented by a binary random process. In this paper we characterize the second-order properties of each binary source by a multi-state MMPP. A comprehensive numerical study is carried out to identify the individual eeect of the source second-order dynamics on the queue length and loss rate. The results can be used to verify the validity of the two-state Markov chain binary source assumption which is commonly made within the framework of input rate control and bandwidth allocation in high speed networks. The concept of input power spectrum is then developed as a uniied source characterization for multimedia traac queueing analyses.

Second-Order Statistical Texture Representation of Asphalt Pavement Distress Images Based on Local Binary Pattern in Spatial and Wavelet Domain

Assessment of pavement distresses is one of the important parts of pavement management systems to adopt the most effective road maintenance strategy. In the last decade, extensive studies have been done to develop automated systems for pavement distress processing based on machine vision techniques. One of the most important structural components of computer vision is the feature extraction met...

Unreliable Server Mx/G/1 Queue with Loss-delay, Balking and Second Optional Service

This investigation deals with MX/G/1 queueing model with setup, bulk- arrival, loss-delay and balking. The provision of second optional service apart from essential service by an unreliable server is taken into consideration. We assume that the delay customers join the queue when server is busy whereas loss customers depart from the system. After receiving the essential service, the customers m...

Working Vacation Queue with Second Optional Service and Unreliable Server

An M/M/1 queueing system with second optional service and unreliable server is studied. We consider that the server works at different rate rather than being idle during the vacation period. The customers arrive to the system according to Poisson process with state dependent rates depending upon the server’s status. All customers demand the first essential service whereas only some of them dema...

A Study on State Dependent Accessible and Second Optional Service Queue with Impatient and Feedback Customers

In this paper, we study a single server Markovian queue with state dependent accessible services, reneging and feedback of customers. The server can accommodate at the most $d$ customers in the service station, after which the new arrivals have to wait in the primary queue of infinite waiting space. All arrivals demand First Essential Service (FES), after completing FES, customers decide to joi...

A Fuzzy Based Approach for Rate Control in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) undergo congestion when a link (or a node) becomes overpopulated in terms of incoming packets. In WMSNs this happens especially in upstream nodes where all incoming packets meet and directed to the sink node. Congestion in networks, if not handled properly, might lead to congestion collapse which deteriorates the quality of service (QoS). Therefore, i...
